Interview with April Bowles on Spread Your Message + Boosting Sales

The other day I made a video about often overlooked placed to market your business. I really enjoyed sharing some of my secret spots for collecting leads + generating sales, but I was even more thrilled to see the amount of response the post received + your oh so clever strategies for marketing. You are such a smarty one!

Anyhoo, to put the cherry on top of the fruitcake, I brought on my gal pal April Bowles for a mini interview to share her wisest marketing magic tricks. Be alerted, this ain't your granny's marketing talk. April always makes the dullest topics fun + insanely practical for all. Gotta love her for it.

Here is some of what you're learn:

- Two marketing no no's you really wanna stay away from.

- How to know when you're ready for marketing.

- How to market with zero dollars in your bank account.

Now, if you want to take things up a million notches, you have got to get your hands on April'' Marketing for Creatives digital guide. It's a top 5 on my list of best resources of 2011.

Oh + be sure to let us know in the comments what your biggest takeaway was from this interview. Any light bulb moment? We'd love to know.

xo,

Love this video ladies! It's so true that you'll never really feel ready but at some point you just have to dive in and GO! And yes, great advice about having something to sell or offer before you start marketing!!! For an information business, blogging is a good way to start, but if you want to make money, you need to have some kind of offer. Great video! xo

Stephenie: Hey girl! Thanks for popping in + sharing your take. Having "some kind of offer" is definitively the way to do. I like to always have a free offer (aka my opt in cookie) + at least one signature offer that's for sale. Free offers help grow trust + loyal customers + high end offerings provide more value for the people who are already ready to buy from you. Gotta love those offerings :)

what a juicy interview:) Thanks April . I love your practical advice. But you already knew that !
You have given me some things that I can walk away with , I was taking notes too :)
And Mayi, you are spot on with the taking action part. I just posted on my blog - about how we read important stuff and never get around to implementing them !
I do want to end with a shout out to April's guide - I bought it a couple of weeks ago . It is packed with information and its all broken down to simple exercises and actions that can be applied right away. I highly recommend it to anyone who has been thinking about buying it.
    Thanks, ladies :)

Thank you to you both! These were "exactly" the answers I've been needing to some unresolved questions I had for my biz. Mayi, I don't know how you do it, but you always seem to know what your readers need to hear :)

Somehow I got hung-up on promoting and marketing but my main focus needs to go back to my products. And that simple test that April mentions in the interview about "feeling proud of your products and website" before spreading the word is a really good gauge.

I think I need to pick up your book April because if it's anything like your ah-mazing Roadmap program, I know it will get my biz soaring in no time :)
