Make Room for an Epic 2012

I've been debating all morning what party prop to wear for my 2011 countdown. Oh boy, decisions… decisions a girl's gotta make!
But I'm sure I'm not the only one wanting to make a grand entrance in 2012 + start the year with a BAM!
I already have more than a handful of resolutions lined up that I'm super excited about, including:
- Lose my honeymoon pounds with Sir Billy Blanks.
- Start a line of organizational notepads.
- Visit at least 5 new places. I'm hoping for Alaska + Spain + Hawaii.
- Do an art exhibition. It's time for a comeback.
- Get out of my paint stained pajamas by the time David gets home for lunch.
What's on your overachieving mind? Whatever it is, I bet you have plans that are making your heart tingle.
This week's 6 minute video is all about preparing you for an epic 2012 + fool-proofing your grandiose plans, cuz there's nothing that makes me sadder than good intentions that never transition from "to do mode" to "action gear".
Don't sabotage 2012 + make room for epic.
What's on your mind?
xo,
Mayi Carles

I've been debating all morning what party prop to wear for my 2011 countdown. Oh boy, decisions… decisions a girl's gotta make!

But I'm sure I'm not the only one wanting to make a grand entrance in 2012 + start the year with a BAM!

I already have more than a handful of resolutions lined up that I'm super excited about, including:

- Lose my honeymoon pounds with Sir Billy Blanks.

- Start a line of organizational notepads.

- Visit at least 3 new places. I'm hoping for Alaska + Spain + Hawaii.

- Do an art exhibition. It's about time for a comeback.

- Get out of my paint stained pajamas by the time David gets home for lunch.

What's on your overachieving mind? Whatever it is, I bet you have plans that are making your heart shine like a twinkle twinkle little star.

That's why this week's video is all about preparing you for the big stage + fool-proofing your grandiose dreams, cuz there's nothing more frustrating than good intentions that never make it past "to do mode", am I right?

Don't sabotage 2012. Make room for epic. Can you hear the castle trumpets?

And so I ask again, what's on your world domination scheming mind? Tell me everything!

There's so much going on in my life (and country) at the moment that I'm choosing not to make new year resolutions.
But that doesn't mean I'm not working hard to make my business a success! I'm just thinking less and act more :)

You know how much I appreciate your super powers, don't you?

Let's toast with cupcakes to a New and Fabulous 2012*****

I am so excited to start school again this January, starting off my junior year at FIU. My goals are to be an even GREATER Mom, Wife, Christian, Daughter, and friend. I want to shed some pounds, photograph more, and find where my niche lies.

Lets just hope and pray for the very best and allow 2012 to take its course.

    xoxo

Thanks, Mayi! That's just what I needed to hear this morning! :)

I'm committing to do three things each day to progress my business and focus more on creativity.

Let's ring in the new year with smiles and cuppie cakes! Cheers!

    Hi Mayi
I think that planning is important, not more, is crucial. Especially for me! I struggle to stop and think, I'm always run as you say Mayi! I would like to be able to take part in an exhibition with my jewels, and finally open my online shopping, I will continue to experiment. I want to keep my life more happy with my boyfriend and be closer to my kin.
A wonderful year to you, full of smiles and new gratified projects
    :)

Oh how I love your videos! The animated sequences are priceless and so perfectly YOU. I'm going easy on myself this year instead of making resolutions I am looking forward with intention about what I want to create in 2012 and the direction I need to move in. This month has been full of focusing on loved ones and taking stock of the last 365 days. I am feeling ready to lay 2011 to rest and bring on 2012 with sparkles, sequins and a whole love of excitement. The best part? Sharing another year with lovelies like you!!! Cheers to connecting and adventuring together this year.

I love the idea of having a bulletin board in my studio. I have sooo many ideas floating around in my head & it would be so cool to be able to stop at look at them. :)

My word of intention for 2012 is ABUNDANCE! So I am entering the year with that theme.

I am working on diversifying my income and growing my business so I can leave my day job. I offer design services, products, and now a RETREAT! I am so very excited for this year and ready to get this party started! :)

My goodness, I see marriage hasn't stolen you're wonderful wildness. I normally move like a turtle. I used to go with every whim, but I saw exactly what you pointed out in this week's video--wasted time and money.

I finally moved on a big project I spent most of 2011 developing, and so far the response has been phenomenal! Of 33 proposals, 32 were positive. Looks like I'm gonna be busy!

Marta: "Think less + act more"… I like the sound of that my friend!

Annette: Ohh how I wish I could go back to school. I envy you in a good way my dearest wedding soul sister :) I'm super excited for you + know you will make the best out of the experience.

Alicia: Yay for cupcakes + 3 manageable tasks a day. Sounds superb!

April: My mom made it for the wedding… so cute right? I'm thinking I should have a Mayi Carles party prop section on my boutique. Something else to add to my 2012 list of projects :)

Francesca: Oh yes, I turn I hot mess when I wing it too. Cheers to a happier + merrier 2012 with the family + your man… personal projects are always the most important because they recharge you for everything else.

Andreia: HEHEHEHE I love Portugal. I have family there hehehe. Spain is on my list because I've never been :) Yayyy for Portugal :)

We all seem to get ansy w/ the new year and load up our plates w/ a bunch of "to-dos", but this year I plan to take it more chill. As far as my creative biz is concerned, I want to finally re-launch my e-shop,do another runway show this year, and at least become a finalist in an international design competition. But most importantly I want to make sure there is some "me-time" in the equation and time for my family too. This year was too chaotic.

Hey, I saw Spain on your list of places to go :) If you guys come, you are more than welcome to stay w/ us in Andalucía :)

    Happy New Year!!!

Love this video Mayi! Take your time, yes. That's why I start earlier in December thinking about the next year to come, rather than OMG IT'S NYE I NEED TO MAKE PLANS/GOALS!!! This year I'm only partially done with my plan and I intent to spend more time getting clear on the marketing, projects and goals before taking action. xoxo

great point about the neverending, picky choosy indecision that I often fall into. forever perfecting...or attempting too... making it so nothing is ever finished! thanks for a push in the right situation : ) happy holidays and 2012 to you... looking forward to your videos!
