How to Change Using the Power of Your Mind?

Oh boy! It's been a crazy last couple of days!

First, I got super sick last weekend, in spite of ultimatum-ing my body to keep it together. It was no time to crash. We had a BIG launch week ahead of us.

And then the superwomen adrenaline kicked in + I was able to jump out of bed + launch Life is Messy Bootcamp on Monday. I sure taught my runny nose who's the boss around here.

I'm still not fully recovered from the sickness + launch euphoria + raving bootcampers, but it's Friday Video Time + I just had to pause for a minute to share with you a mind shifting tactic that I'm confident will help you tackle any item on your resolution list. It's a little bit like magic, except you don't even need a wand to perform.

Watch today's quick 3 minute video to learn the trick.

Psst... make sure to watch till the very very end (wink).

hey! did you hear?

Life is Messy Bootcamp is now OPEN! Have you joined?

Life is Messy Bootcamp is a step-by-step, no guesswork, organizational solution, designed to give you the flexible structure you needed to get down to some meaningful action + make a real contribution in this world.

Go to Life is Messy Bootcamp to find out all the details.

I hope to see you there!

xo,

What a small little piece of magic that I believe is going to make wonders for us!

As a psychologist I know that most of times there's no real obstacles beyond those who live in our minds. The hard part is to not act them.

I found that stop comparing with other's and meaninful online connections with like minded folks that can support us are powerful ways to eliminate excuses.
That way we can ask: How can I do it?

Besides that know I'm hipnotized and believe I can conquer the world! :)

I submitted 9 pieces of my handmade jewelry to a magazine last week and was turned down. This totally rocked my world because I thought they were magazine worthy and I have been published before. I was wrapped in self doubt after that and haven't felt like creating much since then.
I guess I need to ask myself Why Can I Make Beautiful Things? Why Can I submit my pieces to another magazine? Why can I approach that store that is interested in carrying my work? Why can I list more on etsy?
Whew I feel fired up already.
    Thanks Mayi

It helps to reorganize and rethink your daily mantra setting it to " I can do this, I can do this" while you act on it.
Looking for successful people/ the competition helps me set my engine going. " I can do so much more, so go do something now"

Acting on it always counts. No matter the pile of failures!

Shannon: Turn downs can be a huge mood killer. But you know what? They happen to absolutely everybody. I like to think of those incidents as unhappy coincidences that teach me something about me + also a sign that, that particular venue or magazine wasn't right for me.

If I may I would reframe your question to: Why I am worthy of magazine coverage?

Remember not all magazines are a good fit. You're products are already beautiful, you just need to find the RIGHT home for them :)

I hope you are feeling much better now!
Thank you so much for this video. These are the thoughts that are going through my mind these days. I've read somewhere that our mind understands whatever we're thinking without separating good from bad, right from wrong e.t.c. and it acts accordingly. So positive thinking and goal setting leads our mind to accomplish it. I think it's time for action. :-)

I'm big at thinking too much and procastinating a lot. I have this motivation up in my studio that I read it says, "Motivation comes from doing not thinking" I read it everytime I need that extra kick in the pants to get things done. Thanks for the inspiration today :)

Love this! I was just learning in a yoga training about samskaras or ruts that we get into. The best way to change a negative one is by replacing it with a positive one. Thank you for this enlightened take on kicking our bad habits!

Angela: I am feeling much better. Thanks for asking sweetie. I love what you said about our mind understanding what we tell it. There is so much power in that + we cannot be stupid + sabotage our success with loser talk. WE MUST NOT. Thanks for sharing!!!!

Yolanda: OHHH over-thinking... common trait among us creative entrepreneurs. Very hard to silence. You know what helps. To keel a journal. For some reason when I write things down I feel liberated from the anxiety of forgetting + the weight lifts right of my shoulders. Thanks for commenting :)

Kerry: Loved what you said here - "The best way to change a negative one is by replacing it with a positive one." So so SO true. It's really that simple.

Thank YOU for stopping by sweetie + sharing.

As always, a great post! Thank you! As someone who wants to start my own photography business someday this is great advice. I see so many established photographers daily living my dream and I'm constantly thinking "Why can't I be like them?" I really think that this train of thought will help me reach my goals!

Hi there Vanessa. Your comment really struck a chord with me & I felt compelled to respond :) I was in exactly the same position as you a few years ago. I so wanted to become a photographer but it felt like too huge a dream....something way out of my league. But then I met a few photographers, some of whom I assisted for a while & one thing I realised was that they were no different to me. I had placed them on some kind of pedestal but when it came down to it they were lovely, normal people just like you & me....with hopes & fears, good & bad days, doubts about their creativity & art. What this did for me was make me realise that if they could do it so could I! And I did....myself & my husband now run our own photography business in Ireland & I can't believe how far we've come from the time when becoming a photographer felt like a pipe dream! Believe in yourself. You really can become a photographer if you really want to :) Sorry Mayi & Vanessa for such a long post!! Hope it helps in some way. Aine x
