DIY Fabric Scraps + Text Bits Gift Tags

Hello sweeties. I hope you're in a crafty mood today, because I've got a super fun + easy DIY tutorial for ya'. Get your hands + heart ready to make some adorable Fabric Scraps + Text Bits Gift Tags.

I got the idea to make this lovely project after drooling over this DIY Gift Tag Fabric Scraps Tutorial made by the fabulous Ez from Creature Comforts. I loved them so much that I just had to try out my own version. The idea is genius really + a perfect way to use up the infinite fabric scrap pieces laying around my studio that I just couldn't bare to throw down the drain. I'm talking about cute tags + cleaned up supply drawers here folks!!! This DIY is a keeper!

Just be me alerted before you get jamming with this tutorial that this puppies are so handy to whip out that it can get addictive. Just saying!

materials

steps

1. Grab your fabric scraps + cut them a bit smaller than the size of the tag using your regular scissors scissors or the zic zac kind for a different effect. I like to leave my ends a bit rough so they look handmade-ish.

2. With your stick glue add the fabric onto the tags. To make sure the fabric adheres perfectly to the tag, I used a directory phone book to make a bit of pressure + secure the sticking process.

3. Play with your tags. You can use your tip pen to create some interesting frames around the fabric or make some cool shapes to make your tags your own.

4. Add your twine + jute or string at the end of each tag.

5. Create your own word labels or download my Printable Word Labels. I printed mine on kraft card stock, because I just can't help myself. Kraft is my kryptonite. Then, cut out each word + glue onto the fabric tags to finish. Again, don't forget to add a little pressure to secure the adhesion.
